With Pence in the audience and Trump hosting his own party, Patriots’ Tom Brady had VIP support.

The Super Bowl is always a big occasion for Americans. People come from all over the world to gather at the one location where it would be held that year. This year, it was held in Houston, Texas at the NRG Stadium. During a break in the game, the cameras went up to the stands to point out some of the big names in the crowd. Many were surprised to see Vice President Mike Pence in the audience. Was President Trump nearby?

President Trump was not in attendance at Super Bowl 51. He had his own watch party going on. According to an article on cbssports.com, he reportedly left his own party during the 3rd quarter due to the early lead that the Falcons held on the Patriots. Therefore he missed the comeback that they made shortly after. However, he made it up by taking to Twitter and sharing his congrats to the team.

What an amazing comeback and win by the Patriots. Tom Brady, Bob Kraft and Coach B are total winners. Wow!- Donald J. Trump via Twitter

Recently there have been questions concerning Tom Brady and whether or not he supports Donald Trump as President. Brady tries to dodge political questions from the press as a whole, but according to an article in Sports Illustrated, “Trump frequently talks about his friendship with Brady in addition to Patriots coach Bill Belichick and owner Robert Kraft.” So, they’re indeed friends, but one can’t go too far as to assume Brady’s political stance. Overall, it was quite interesting to see “presidential royalty” taking a break from political matters and engaging in some all-American football.
